About Laura

I’m a multi-hyphenate artist and creative. A graduate of Hofstra University, I received a B.F.A. in Performance and minors in Musical Theater, English, and Public Relations. A highlight of my college experience was playing Juliet in Romeo & Juliet and performing THE balcony scene on the most historically-accurate replica of the Globe Stage in North America. A Chicago-based actress, I love the lake and tolerate the winters (I’m always cold anyways). When not writing, acting, singing in my kitchen or recording in my booth, I work as a standardized patient, teaching communication skills to medical students. I enjoy hiking and traveling; Prague, Czechia has a special place in my heart after I spent a summer working there. I do yoga with my hubby and go on Jane Austen-esque promenades with my friends. I also bake banana bread bi-weekly, as I can never seem to eat bananas fast enough and thusly always have some in my freezer!

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

I am having a delightful time performing as the female swing for Oil Lamp’s production of A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play. I am covering the tracks of Sally Applewhite, Lana Sherwood, and Betty Forte (the foley artist). You can see me as Betty on Saturday, Nov. 30th (both the matinee and evening show) and Sally on Thursday, Dec. 26th! (Click here for tickets.) Being in A Christmas Carol feels like a rite of passage as an actor, and I’m so glad my first production of it is in the form of a radio play, where I get to voice so many fun characters, from the Ghost of Christmas Past to Mrs. Cratchit to The Laundress to Belle. It has been good for my soul to tell this poignant and heartwarming tale at this time with such a special group of people.

REGIONAL PREMIERE

Three Sisters, Four Women (a play co-authored by myself and Samantha Haviland) ran from May 30 - June 16 at Lost Nation Theater as part of their 35th season. I was so happy to return to LNT to play Olga in their production! Jim Lowe of The Times Argus described it as “A delightful new and witty imagining of the women in Chekhov’s play”. He went on to write: “Chekhov lovers will find themselves horrified or thrilled - but never untouched”. We plan to bring Three Sisters, Four Women to Chicago next! Please reach out if you are interested in adding it to your upcoming season.

NEW REPRESENTATION

I am thrilled to announce that I have signed with Lily’s Talent for Theatrical, VO, Commercial and Film/TV representation! I’m excited for the opportunities this partnership will provide, and trust my agent at Lily’s to help shape my artistry and bring my career to the next level. Though they are exclusive in the Midwest region, I will still be pursuing voiceover representation in other regions as I have a fully-remote capable, professional booth, so hit me up if you’re interested in working together!
